Celebrating Poundbury
Poundbury is no longer a concept , a collection of blueprints and a well drawn up masterplan . It is now a living , thriving community and it is expanding every day . We are passionate about celebrating what is great about Poundbury so we can share it with our readers , visitors and potential residents . This is an exciting year for Poundbury with the completion of the Buttermarket square , addition of a Post Office and the official unveiling of the Queen Mother Square . The square itself looks different every month and by the end of the year we will see finished buildings and the doors open to the new Duchess of Cornwall Inn by Hall & Woodhouse . Every month we will see the further development of the North East Quadrant , bringing many more residents and businesses to Poundbury . The new Damers First School
will complete , ready for the pupils in early 2017 . In the quirky streets and open squares there are now a staggering 180 businesses operating from Poundbury , ranging from small independents to worldwide names such as Dorset Cereals and House of Dorchester chocolates . In this issue we have spoken to lots of these independent businesses to hear their stories , each one unique and full of passion . We want to support these amazing businesses by encouraging everyone to shop locally and enjoy everything they have to offer . Every year the community of Poundbury is growing and we look forward to sharing this with you .
