A Few Ways TCC Faculty can integrate SH101
into the classroom:
Share Your Creative Classroom
Ideas with Other Faculty:
Add the SH101 link to your course Syllabus and introduce
the magazine on the first day of class; show the students
how to access articles (by clicking on topics at the top of
the page and using arrows to click through the magazine
pages), find TCC resources, watch videos, and locate activities to do on campus this month (“TCC Services and Activities” related to health and wellness).
Post your SH101 ideas on your division or
course Blackboard page (such as Academic
Strategies)
Discuss successful activities with CELT, or
ideas on activities
Participate in the TCC Wellness Committee
In a Reading course: Assign students to read “Crack the Job
Listing Code” in the Career section this month (February).
Give a brief quiz to test comprehension.
Share your thoughts with the Faculty Forum
Submit an article about your classroom success to Celebrate Learning (CELT)
Show the video on “Academic Integrity” on the February
cover. Facilitate class discussion and assign small groups
to create their own video to explain an aspect of academic
integrity.
Write a brief blurb about your strategy and
submit to TCC Marketing department’s BlueBytes e-newsletter
Schedule lunch out with others and talk
about it
Assign students to access the UCookbook section. Start a
Blackboard discussion forum and have students post about
a recipe they are interested in trying.
“Finding time to focus on yourself is a practice that will
help you succeed in academics.” Ask students to agree or
disagree and discuss what they do to attend to own emotional self-care.
Assign students to write about their experience as a first
time or returning student and submit to SH101 Student
Views.
Pull up “TCC Services and Activities” for the month from
SH101, assign activities to attend for points (to increase
campus engagement/conn X
