Completing the Dream
New Student Orientation continues to grow and
expand by having 1,682 students attend one of the 26
sessions held between April and August of 2013. Team
leader Darin Behara states, “Efforts continue on the development of a web-based online new student orientation
to continue supporting students’ ability to navigate our
college systems successfully and prepare them for their
transition to attending class.”

Completing the Dream (CTD) is TCC’s system of
action research, dedicated to student success and focused
on degree and certificate completion. Its mission is to
promote student success through the implementation
and assessment of innovative strategies for teaching, supporting, and serving students at TCC.
Faculty team leader Josh Baker reports that MathPath has received a $20,000 grant from JP Morgan Chase
to build on the success and expand the reach of this Continuing Education refresher course.
After six years as a member in the national organization, Achieving the Dream, and through statewide and
organizational association with the national initiative,
Complete College America, TCC is now merging the two
missions. In his August 15, 2013 message to the TCC
community, Dr. McKeon stated, “The transition to a selfsustaining organization reinforces and strengthens the
College commitment to student success by incorporating
action research into organizational operation and adapting the organizational name to ‘Completing the Dream.”
