The following are examples of ceremony itineraries and wording.
It is anticipated that Civil Partnerships will be retained with the
introduction of Equal Marriage. These will only be available for
same sex couples.
Wording
Introduction 1
Ladies and Gentlemen we welcome you
here today on this very special occasion
of deep significance for Partner 1 and
Partner 2.
Today this couple will affirm their love
and publicly declare their commitment to
each other.
Partner 1 and Partner 2 have chosen
to pledge themselves to each other by
committing to a legally binding contract.
Their partnership will enable the love
and respect that they have for each
other to develop into a deep and lasting
relationship.
Partner 1 and Partner 2 we who are
witnessing your civil partnership, hope
that despite the stresses available in any
life, your love, trust and understanding
of each other will increase your
contentment, and heighten your joy in
living.
We can adapt some wording to suit your style.
Music can be played for the entrance of the partners (If required,
subject to the approval of the Superintendent Registrar).
