The following are examples of ceremony itineraries and wording . Although there are words that are legally required to be said , we can adapt some wording to suit your style .
Music can be played for the entrance of either or both parties to the marriage ( If required , subject to the approval of the
Superintendent Registrar ).

Introduction

This place in which we are met has been duly sanctioned by law for the celebration of marriages . You are here to witness the joining in matrimony of ( Partner 1 ) to ( Partner 2 ). Would the partners please stand ? May I formally check your names please ? To Partner 1 : Is your full name ( Registrar states Partner 1 ’ s Name )? Partner 1 replies : Yes To Partner 2 : Is your full name ( Registrar states Partner 2 ’ s Name )? Partner 2 replies : Yes If any person here present knows of any lawful impediment to this marriage he should declare it now . ( Partner 1 ) and ( Partner 2 ), before you are joined in matrimony , I have to remind you of the solemn and binding character of marriage . Marriage according to the law of this country is the union of two people voluntarily entered into for life to the exclusion of all others . The purpose of marriage is that you may always love , care for and support each other through the joys and sorrows of life and that love may be fulfilled in a relationship of permanent and continuing commitment .

Either : “ I do solemnly declare that I know not of any lawful impediment why I ( Name ) may not be joined in matrimony to ( Name )” Or “ I declare that I know of no legal reason why I ( Name ) may not be joined in marriage to ( Name )” Or by answering “ I am ” to the question “ Are you ( Name ) free lawfully to marry ( Name )”.
