A monitor, at first white, turns blue, then green,
and finally red. Like an aural mnemonic, the
subtle ‘plink, plink’ of the soundtrack gently
coaxes along the realisation that what is being
shown is a close-up of a glass of water in which
a brush is being cleaned. The change of colour
is accomplished by adding brush loads of
primary pigment (red, yellow, blue) to the glass
of water. (The colour palette red, green, and
blue, incidentally, corresponds to the chromatic
make-up of RGB video technology.)
Ein Monitor ist zunächst weiß, färbt sich dann
blau, grün und schließlich rot. Das verhaltene
»pling, pling« der Tonspur führt allmählich zu
der Erkenntnis, dass das, was zu sehen ist,
die Nahaufnahme eines Wasserglases ist, in
dem ein Pinsel gereinigt wird. Der Wechsel der
Farben wird durch das Hinzufügen von Pigmenten in den Primärfarben (Rot, Gelb, Blau)
mit dem Pinsel erreicht. (Zufällig entspricht die
Farbpalette Rot, Grün und Blau dem Farbraum
der RGB-Videotechnologie.)
