President ’ s Message
Greetings ,
I am delighted to bring you the latest edition of our newsletter , filled with remarkable stories and achievements from the Charles R . Drew University of Medicine and Science ( CDU ) community . This month ’ s issue is particularly special as it features a comprehensive recap of our recent 39th Annual Commencement Ceremony , a truly momentous event that celebrated the accomplishments of our graduates . The commencement ceremony served as a powerful testament to the unwavering dedication and exceptional achievements of our graduating class .
This month ’ s newsletter also highlights the exceptional achievements and contributions of our community members . We honor Dr . Deborah Prothrow-Stith , Dean of the College of Medicine , who was recognized for her outstanding contributions to the city of Boston . We also acknowledge CDU student Nonye Ikeanyi , who was selected for the National Football League ’ s ( NFL ) Diversity in Medicine Pipeline Initiative .
Furthermore , we shine a spotlight on the outstanding faculty members , showcase the impactful work of the CDU Simulation Center , and highlight the research efforts of our faculty and researchers . We also acknowledge the proactive measures taken by the Office of Risk Management in organizing an event to enhance campus safety , as well as celebrate the recognition received by Professor Cynthia Davis for her exceptional contributions in the field of healthcare .
Each of these stories exemplifies the dedication , excellence , and commitment that define our CDU community . They demonstrate our collective efforts to create positive change in healthcare and address the needs of underserved populations . Together , let us celebrate their accomplishments and honor their resilience as we all work together to make a lasting impact on healthcare and health outcomes for everyone .
As we bring this academic year to a close , I would like to extend my heartfelt congratulations to our graduates once again .
