International Representatives Visit CDU Campus
Father Innocent Rugaragu from Kigali , Rwanda , visited the CDU campus as part of the Office of International Affairs ’ Global Impact Series .
Amidst the concerted efforts of Rwandans to heal and progress following the genocide , Father Innocent Rugaragu emerged as a vital figure in both the nation ’ s emotional recovery and its academic advancement .
In partnership with the community he serves , his leadership in youth reconciliation post-genocide has been pivotal .
As the president of Saint Ignatius School in Kigali , Father Rugaragu
continues to play a crucial role in advancing STEM education and fostering innovation within the community .
“ By promoting dialogue , collaboration , and innovation , we can help to drive positive change , build stronger communities and create a better future for all ,” said Dr . Lejeune Lockett , Director of the CDU Office of International Affairs .
The Global Impact Series is a testament to CDU ’ s dedication to global health and equity .
This initiative showcases CDU ’ s engagement with critical global health issues , including HIV /
AIDS , cancer , and cardiovascular disease , through engaging speakers and events .
CDU also welcomed Chibamba Kanyama , Ambassador of the Republic of Zambia to the US who is based in Washington , DC .
He met with University leaders and CDU ’ s Zambia grant team to discuss the Rise UP ! project and CDU ’ s initiatives in Lusaka and the Copperbelt .
As his role is to represent and support the Zambian diaspora residing in the U . S ., this was a great opportunity to connect Kanyama with CDU as an option for study and collaboration .
