2024 GRADUATE AWARDS
23 . DR . GERALDINE BURTON BRANCH AWARD Geraldine Burton Branch , MD , was instrumental in establishing health policy regarding mandatory immunization for child school enrollment . Dr . Branch summed up her life of leadership by saying “ There ’ s something I learned about leadership : A leader can ’ t run alone . You ’ ve got to have people to go along with you , otherwise you accomplish nothing .” The award named in her honor is granted to the student applicant who exemplifies the potential as a committed medical professional to build , shape and improve the overall health of underserved communities , and a commitment to their program and the College of Science and Health .
24 . DEAN ’ S AWARD The Dean ’ s Award represents a deep commitment to the COSH mission and values of excellence , leadership and compassion within our student body . Recipients of this award showcase exceptional leadership abilities , not only within the classroom but also in their engagement with the broader community . Their dedication in striving for success , coupled with a strong sense of school spirit , serves as an inspiration . This award not only highlights the recipient ’ s achievements but also reflects the values and standards upheld by the university , inspiring others to strive for excellence and make meaningful contributions to their academic and professional pursuits .

25 . FUTURE LEADER IN MEDICINE AWARD The Future Leader in Medicine Award recognizes aspiring physician leaders who exemplify the mission of CDU , demonstrating a steadfast dedication to under-resourced communities , cultural humility , and advocacy for social justice and health equity .
2024 FACULTY AWARDS
Academic Senate of Charles R . Drew University established the Outstanding Faculty awards to give recognition for excellence in research , teaching , community service , clinical education , and in all areas overall . The awardees were announced on May 8 , 2024 during the Outstanding Faculty Awards Ceremony and Reception and will be acknowledged during the Commencement Ceremonies .
