CDU Signs MOU with Compton Community Health Professions Partnership
CDU signed a Memorandum of Understanding( MOU) for the Compton Community Health Professions Partnership( CCHPP), joining forces with Assemblymember Mike A. Gipson, Compton College, Compton Unified School District( CUSD), Kedren Health, St. Johns Community Health, and California State University, Dominguez Hills( CSUDH).
In order to address the disparities in healthcare access and improve educational attainment for greater Compton area residents, the CCHPP will create a seamless pipeline for health professional education and training to forge areas of job growth in the greater Compton community.
This pipeline will begin in middle and high school for students in the CUSD, leading into health professional degree programs at Compton College, CSUDH, and CDU.
CDU Simulation Center Receives Accreditation
The CDU Simulation Center has achieved a significant milestone in its pursuit of excellence in healthcare education as it has been awarded National Provisional Accreditation by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare( SSH).
This prestigious accreditation comes after an 18-month-long journey of rigorous preparation and evaluation, and it places CDU’ s Simulation Center on par with only a handful of such centers in Los Angeles, including those at USC, UCLA, and Loma Linda.
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Residency Program Accreditation
CDU’ s newly proposed Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation( PM & R) Residency Program has successfully achieved accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education( ACGME).
This milestone marks a significant achievement in CDU’ s commitment to advancing medical education and patient care.
The program, set to commence on July 1, 2024, is designed to develop highly knowledgeable, clinically competent, and culturally sensitive physiatrists.
It aims to train diverse health professional leaders dedicated to social justice and health equity, particularly for underserved populations.
