Sofia Toro Joins CDU as Vice Provost for Enrollment Management
Sofia Toro joined CDU in February 2024, as the inaugural Vice Provost for Enrollment Management.
With over 15 years of experience at Keck Graduate Institute and Pepperdine University, she brings expertise in student recruitment, admissions, financial aid, and strategic enrollment planning.
Reporting to the provost, she will lead CDU’ s enrollment efforts, strengthen community college partnerships, and enhance student retention and graduation strategies. Toro holds a BS in Business Administration from Woodbury University and an MBA from Pepperdine University.
Inaugural TransferFest Welcomes Local Community College Students to Campus
Over three dozen community college students gathered on the CDU campus for TransferFest in April 2024, a fun-filled day of educational and career exploration in health professions.
Attendees were from 11 different community colleges( Cypress College, East LA College, El Camino College, EL Camino College: Compton Center, LA City College, Long Beach City College, Los Angeles Southwest College, Los Angeles Trade and Technical College, Oakton Community College, Orange Coast College,
Riverside City College) and three universities( California State University: Dominguez Hills, Northcentral University, and University of California, Los Angeles.
Visiting students were encouraged to visit each one to connect and learn more about key university departments and programs, including Student Academic Success, Student Life and Career Services, SHAW, Radiologic Technology, College of Nursing, Biomedical Sciences, Financial Aid, Registration and Records, and Public Health.
