OUTSIDE / INSIDE
IMMIGRATION , MIGRATION , AND HEALTH CARE IN THE UNITED STATES
The CDU Health Sciences Library and Academic Services collaborated to present “ Outside / Inside : Immigration , Migration , and Health Care in the United States ,” a National Library of Medicine ( NLM ) Traveling Exhibit . The exhibit , which ran January to February 2023 , depicted many of the challenges that immigrants and migrants have faced in obtaining health care , along with the improvements that have been made over the past 130 years . The exhibit highlighted the medical inspection of immigrants , the public health campaigns that targeted immigrants based on their national origin rather than scientific assessment of risk , the invention of immigrant health services , the actions immigrants and migrants took on behalf of their own health and rights , and more .

CO-AUTHORS A CHAPTER IN A BOOK
Dr . Darlene Parker-Kelly , CDU Library Director , co-authored a chapter in the book " Essential Leadership Skills for Health Sciences Information Professionals ." She partnered with Ellen Sayed , Director of the Medical College of Wisconsin Libraries , to write the chapter " Build Relationships and Engage Stakeholders ." The chapter focuses on whom librarians should engage and collaborate with at their institution or organization . They investigated the landscape of academic health sciences libraries and hospital libraries to highlight the importance of understanding and utilizing the organization and its hierarchical structure .
