Carol A. Ammon College of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences Carol A. Ammon, a very successful businesswoman and a Central alumna, Class of 1973, has made a generous $ 8 million contribution to CCSU through the Carol A. Ammon Foundation. Her gift will be used for student scholarships and academic program support.
School of Business Our AACSB accredited School of Business offers Bachelors of Science degrees in Accounting, Finance, Management & Organization, Management Information Systems, and Marketing. CCSU’ s School of Business joins the ranks of other prestigious institutions in Connecticut, including Yale and UConn. Only about 5 percent of business schools in the United States and 49 countries and territories worldwide have received the coveted AACSB stamp of approval.
School of Education & Professional Studies CCSU is Connecticut’ s oldest public institution of higher education – founded first as the New Britain Normal School in 1849 and later becoming the Teachers College of Connecticut( 1933), then becoming Central Connecticut State College in 1959. Ultimately ending up as Central Connecticut State University that is the nationally recognized brand today. Accredited by the National Council for the Accreditation of Teacher Education( NCATE) longer than any institution in the state of Connecticut.
