Blue Devil Senior Reflections
“ My time as a Blue Devil has helped me to identify the type of person I want to be for the rest of my life. The challenges of playing Division I football while being a full-time student have shown me there is a right way and a wrong way to handle every situation in life and that good things happen to those who choose to do things the right way. Moving forward, I will strive to never take the easy way out and handle all the adversity I will face in my life with honesty, integrity and pride; the same way I handled all of the adversity on the playing field and in the classroom.”

“ Becoming a CCSU Blue Devil has been one of the best decisions I’ ve made in life. I gained friendships and relationships with amazing people across the entire campus. From the coaches to the students and even the leaders in our athletic department the experience at Central has been bittersweet. Not only will you enjoy your own personal experience, but you will also be able to extend your family and support each other. One life lesson I’ ve learned is that anyone can become your family without blood relation.”

“ My overall Blue Devil experience has exposed me to tough circumstances and situations in which I had never been exposed to before. Being a Blue Devil forced me to become mentally stronger than ever before. There were many challenges that I had to overcome in order to succeed and I learned how to deal with these challenges head on. I also learned how to communicate with different kinds of people. I feel as though this will only benefit me in my future endeavors because I will be exposed to different kinds of people in all aspects of life. Also, while attending CCSU, I pursued a degree in sociology. This area of study taught me to understand the world in a completely different way. It challenged my previous beliefs and opened me up to perspectives that had never crossed my mind before. This will help me in the next journey of life because it has made me want to pursue a master’ s degree. I have learned of many different forms of oppression within our society and I personally would like to make a positive impact in the world. I want to become more educated on this area and share my knowledge in order to create more awareness. Looking back on who I was as a freshman coming to Central and who I am today amazes me because I have grown so much. My maturity level has enhanced and I believe that all of the circumstances I have been in as a Blue Devil changed me for the better. I have become stronger, more independent, more mature, and more educated. I can see all of these positive changes within myself and that is why I will forever be grateful to have the opportunity to call myself a Blue Devil.”

“ Through every challenge, my Blue Devil family has always been by my side, pushing me to be better, faster, and stronger. Being a Blue Devil has taught me to push my limits in everything I do and I now have the skills and tools to persevere and be successful. Central Athletics has made me the best version of myself and I am proud, and will always be proud, to be a Blue Devil.”

“ My Blue Devil experience has been lifechanging and the most important experience of my life thus far. I will forever be a Blue Devil. CCSU is unique because we are not just an institution but a family, and this is shown through everything we do. I have learned so much from this school. Aside from the classroom, the bonds that you make with your peers, advisors, mentors, coaches, faculty and staff are unforgettable.”
