By-Laws / Constitution of the Parent-Teacher-Friends Association ( PTFA ) of The Cornerstone Christian School ( Approved : August 28 , 2011 )
ARTICLE : AUTHORIZATION The Parent-Teacher-Friend Association of The Cornerstone Christian School is provided for by motion of the The Cornerstone Christian School Board , which reads as follows :
There shall be an organization established for the close association and cooperation of the parents of the student , the faculty of the school , and interested friends . All teachers and parents of students automatically become members by reason of their relationship to the school . Participation is also open to friends from the community who are interested in Christian education ; however , no voting privileges are extended to such participants . The PTFA shall determine its annual calendar of meeting dates , maintain its own treasury , and sponsor activities and projects subject to the approval of The Cornerstone Christian School Administration and Board . The basis of the PTFA shall be the Word of God as interpreted by the school ’ s Statement of Faith . ( Board Policy Manual , Section 1018 )
ARTICLE II : NAME The name of the association shall be the Parent-Teacher-Friends Association ( PTFA ) of The Cornerstone Christian School ( CCS ).
ARTICLE III : PURPOSE The purpose of the PTFA shall be to provide a framework in which both parent and teacher , through the mutual understanding of the opportunities involved in Christian education and of the needs of the child , may work together for the child ’ s best interest in developing spiritual , academic , emotional and physical maturity .
ARTICLE IV : OBJECTIVES 1 . To assist the parent / guardian with understanding the school ’ s philosophy of Christian education .
2 . To provide an opportunity for parents , teachers , and friends of the community to know and fellowship with one another .
3 . To promote and / or enhance the total school program within the community at large through positive public relations , encouragement of financial support for the school , and enrichment opportunities .
4 . To cooperate fully with the school , the administration , and the School Board . 5 . To coordinate all PTFA sponsored activities with the administration .
ARTICLE V : MEMBERSHIP 1 . The Parent-Teacher-Friend Association of The Cornerstone Christian School is vital to the fulfillment of the school ’ s educational and spiritual goals as the CCS Educational Philosophy reveals . Education
