Blooms for Summer

During the summer months, especially in the South and dry weather, it's important to continue to keep your garden adequately watered. Gardeners should

also remember that a weekly deep thorough soaking is more beneficial than a daily light sprinklying. Some more summer tips include mounding up the mulch and ensuring that all planting areas have two inch layers of mulch.

Again, mulches help to regulate soil temperature, conserve moisture, and prevents weeds. Some beautiful summer blooms include Hydangea, Lillies, Lilac, Dahlia, and Hybiscus. Remember to fertilize and feed both indoor and outdoor plants with plant food.

Basic Lawn Care Tip

Setting soil requires planning and preparation no matter what planting method you use. You

have to prepare the area thouroughly to banish weeds and make sure soil won't crust or compact into lumps.

Seeding an area yourself is less expensive and can be done using a method called hydroseeding. Hydroseeding has become more popular and solves one of the main problems with hand seeding. Never mow your grass too short due to the stress it causes on the grass.
