CCLA Distributes Scholarship Awards
CCLA is proud to have distributed $ 19,500 in scholarship awards this June. In addition to our two Mike Stacy Scholarship recipients and the Diane Johnson Membership awards, we also introduced new awards at Cape Cod Technical High School and Upper Cape Cod Technical High School to support Outstanding Horticulture Students. Together, these awards form the pillar of our mission as an association, strengthening our workforce pipeline and supporting our local communities. Congratulations to all the recipients!
Upper Cape Tech Outstanding Horticulture Students Devyn Schulze and Allyson Webb received the Outstanding Horticulture Student awards at Upper Cape Tech. According to their instructor, Scott McGuire:“ We have two incredible students this year that will be going off to UMass-Stockbridge in the Fall, Allyson Webb and Devyn Schulze respectively. Both have succeeded at the highest levels in our FFA chapter, as well as on our school ' s sports teams.
Ally has been named our school ' s Most Outstanding Vocational Student of the Year, as well as the top FFA Member in the state. She is an incredible young lady whose future knows no bounds. She will be studying sustainable agriculture at UMass-Stockbridge.
Devyn will be studying turf management at UMass- Stockbridge after he completes his Co-op program with Old Sandwich Golf Club. Both Devyn and Ally are co-captains of their respective Spring sports teams, Devyn in baseball and Ally in lacrosse.”
Cape Tech Outstanding Horticulture Students At Cape Tech, two students received scholarships from CCLA. Both students are headed directly into the industry and will use the scholarship funds to support their professional development.
Landyn Donovan currently works for C. Davenport Company and has worked on the Grounds Maintenance Department at Cape Cod Tech for the past 3 years as a co-op placement. Landyn plans to obtain her Hoisting Engineer ' s licenses 2A and 1C and potentially her Commercial Driver ' s License. Landyn has also executed numerous landscaping jobs on her own outside of school and served as CCT ' s FFA Chapter president for the past year.
Evangeline Sorbello is part of the National Technical Honor Society and has been active with Skills USA, as well as participated in FFA Hardscape Career Development Events. She recently obtained her Hoisting Engineer ' s License 1C and is planning to sit for the 2A exam. She loves to travel and is passionate about Landscape Design and Interior Landscaping. She works for her family ' s company, Sorbello Landscaping Inc.

We ' re also looking forward to LandsCape Cod 2027, which will be held at the newly renovated Margaritaville Conference Center following the closure of the Emerald Resort and Conference Center. The new venue offers exciting opportunities, and we are already building an outstanding educational program that will continue the tradition of delivering a premier industry event for our members and attendees.
Membership renewals for the 2026-2027 year are well underway, and I encourage all members to renew and continue supporting the programs and opportunities that make CCLA such a valuable resource. I hope you have a successful summer season, and I look forward to seeing you at upcoming events.
