CCF ROAD SECTOR BREAKFAST
On Friday 9th June 2017 , the annual Road Sector Breakfast was held at Kooyong Lawn & Tennis Club . Over 130 CCF & industry members attended to hear from our guest speakers to discuss the infrastructure plans for Victoria ’ s Road sector .

We also held a number of ‘ Savings Workshops ’ across Victoria aimed to help members reduce costs and save money through Fuel Tax rebates and Workers Compensation Premium reductions . Justin Ward from Deloitte and Paul Ramsdale from Jayrose Group have provided free assessments to CCF members .
Bill Glasgow , Executive Director for Regional Services and Andrew Williams – Executive Director for Major Projects at VicRoads gave attendees an exclusive “ hot off the press ” presentation .
With an ambitious forward works program announced in the State Budget , CCF have been working with the state government and industry partners to not only ensure we continue to develop the skills and capabilities of our industry , but also create sustainable employment pathways into civil construction , particularly for those sectors of our community who are vulnerable , or disadvantaged .
Parliamentary Secretary for the Special Minister of State and Parliamentary Secretary for Infrastructure , Shaun Leane MP announced and exciting new program with the CCF - the ‘ Centre for Excellence in Earthmoving ’.
REGIONAL EVENTS & WORKSHOPS
During the year , CCF conducted a number of meetings and regional events . Two meetings were held in the Ballarat , Geelong , Murray & Gippsland regions as well as Bendigo and Warrnambool with each one attracting a significant number of local members . A range of individual speakers were selected specially to discuss plans and share information with local members .

Australian Standards General Conditions of Contract - Refresher for Civil Contractors
In response to member requests , CCF scheduled a series of seminars throughout April and May 2017 , focussing on understanding , interpreting and applying the principles of AS2124 and AS4000 .
Seminars were held in Dandenong , Craigieburn and Geelong , targetting the wider Metropolitan area to allow as many members as possible to attend .
Focussing on the process of negotiating a win-win for contractor and client , the following seminar topics were examined ... 1 ) The Role of the Superintendent 2 ) Variations 3 ) Programming and Extensions of Time 4 ) Getting Paid
CCF drew on the expertise within member companies to assemble a team of presenters for each topic and an expert panel . 60 attendees were present at each seminar , highlighting the relevance and importance of the subject matter , and the significance of maintaining a strong understanding of the General Conditions of Contract .
