Salma Abdel Salam
(Performing Body)
Salma Abdel Salam has been dancing since the age of 4. From
2007-2010, she studied at the Modern Dance School at the Cairo Opera
House. In 2012 she enrolled as a full-time student at Cairo Contemporary Dance
Center 3-year, full-time professional training program. In 2014 she moved to New York
to pursue an MA in Performance Studies from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. After
graduating, she worked in New York as a dancer, a teacher, and an arts administrator
at ArteEast and Movement Research. Most recently, she received the acclaimed
DanceWeb 2016 scholarship as part of ImpulsTanz, the world's largest contemporary
dance festival. Salma has performed in numerous countries with choreographers from
various dance backgrounds. Now that she is back in Egypt she is excited to start
teaching and sharing her applied knowledge in performance and dance, theory and
practice.
Hany El Metennawy
(Bio Mechanics)
A teacher at the Science of Movement Department at the College
of Physical Education in Giza, actor and theater director since 1992.
Hani created and performed in several Theater, Dance and Mime performances, all
focusing on the Movement.
He also taught several workshops and worked with several artists such as Eva-
Maria Lerchenberg-Thöny, Karima Mansour, Jochem Stavenuiter, Qassim
Mohammed, Mohammed Abu Saud.
He directed several theater performances that had been presented in Egypt and
abroad, such as Masks, Fabrics & Destinies, in 2003; and Phaedra Lady Secrets,
2001.
Hani founded his Theater Company El-Shanta in 2011, with which he presented
several theater plays, including his last production A Very Simple Story in 2015.
