Artistic Residencies
Regularly, the Cairo Contemporary Dance Center welcomes national
or international emerging or professional artists as a residency and
research space. In the recent period, CCDC hosted:
Shaymaa Shoukry (Egypt)
Shaymaa Shoukry is a multidisciplinary Egyptian artist with a
visual arts background who is interested in integrating diverse
disciplines in her creations. She thrives on a passion for
choreographing, performing, and creating video art and is
motivated and inspired by working collectively while developing
personal work in an organic build-up process, where each project
paves the way for the next.
Anamaria Bagaric (Slovenia)
Anamaria is a Modern Ballet dancer and choreographer from
Slovenia. She began dancing as a child, competed for IDO,
studied at the Academy of Dance in Slovenia and danced with
KDP (a Contemporary Ballet company for young dancers).
Today she is a licensed Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga and Pilates
instructor and teaches different dancing techniques: Jazz,
Classical and Modern Ballet.
Esraa Magdi (Egypt)
Essraa Magdi is an Egyptian dancer, actress, and choreographer
from Cairo. She has performed in more than ten performances and
learned the basics of many kinds of dance (Hip Hop, Tango, Jazz,
Indian, Belly Dance).
Mounir Saeed (Egypt)
Mounir started his physical training with football; he was a
goalkeeper for 5 years. He headed to Contemporary Dance
through a workshop held in Cairo, at Studio Emad Eddin for 4
years. He has since then worked as a local dancer and
choreographer in different countries, and also lead classes
and workshops in various cultural centers in Egypt.
