met through mutual friends at a
summer party in July 2016. Shortly
after, Mitch mentioned to Ramsay’s
friend that he was interested in
meeting her. The two were quickly
introduced and went on their first
date the following weekend. For the
proposal, Mitch truly went the extra
mile by flying into a hurricane to get
the engagement ring! “Flying into
an oncoming hurricane is nothing
compared to what I’d do for her,”
shares Mitch. Originally planning
to propose in Mitch’s hometown
of Houston, TX, the arrival of
Hurricane Harvey changed his
plans. However, nothing was going
to stop him from proposing and
after a 24-hour trip to Houston, he
flew back to Atlanta (where the
couple was living at the time) and
suggested a Sunday date night with
Ramsay. Their date ended with them
taking photos of the Atlanta skyline
on the Jackson Street Bridge. After
waiting for the lighting to be perfect,
Mitch asked a bystander to take the
couple’s photo. During the photo
session, Mitch proposed to Ramsay
with a round cut diamond ring from
Klein’s Jewelry in Houston.
