kill all the gods
linda m. crate
queen of the underworld
who once knew songs of life
how cruel hades was
to take her from her flowers,
and if i were she
i would have never forgiven him;
because death is never
going to be a song worthwhile
to any who have to face life without those
whom they love—
her mother cried tears of snow,
but still hades did nothing
which proves to me that he was unfair
not fair like people try to insist to me he was;
so i have found that i feel pity
for persephone
who was always controlled by those around her
never having a choice in her life—
to be a goddess but never choosing anything
always controlled by a demanding mother or married to a man
who kidnapped her from everything she knew
simply because she was beautiful
i could never be a greek goddess because i'd
kill all the gods.
