bloom.
Salena Wiener
a pair of dandelions,
basking in the sunlight, grows.
photosynthesis; warm rays
slink their way from limbs to lips:
stretching to the sky without end;
they thought the sun would
always feed their love.
darkness creeps, gradations
of light slip into sleep, coldness seeps
from head to toe. eternal night,
weeds wilt, and die.
