I ached to smear mud on my own face and press my lips against Her blush-kissed cheeks .

The hill was steep and covered in greenery that surely would die in any other
shade-soaked climate . Flowers sprung up in random clusters all over .
We were nearby , I knew because the pathway was getting warmer under my feet . One of
the few memories I had of taking Mama here was the comforting warmth . We were close .
I felt another force within me take a lungful of the crisp , clean air . Inhaling the distant
notes of sandalwood incense floating on the wind . I looked up with my arms outreached and
dropped to my knees .
“ SARA LA KALI ! SARA MA ! I AM HERE ! MOTHER !”
Papa shrieked as a rumbling mound of mud rose up to a towering height . Slowly dirt
crumbled away , forming an entryway to complete darkness save for a twinkling of a light in its
core .
“ BRING HIM TO ME !” A voice growled from within , echoing from all four corners of
the world it seemed .
“ You heard my daughter ” said Nani . Cold and focused .
