Cauldron Anthology Issue 13 - Maiden 1st | Page 12

Dear Readers ,

I have just finished going over the proof of Issue 13 : Maiden and I know I say this every time , but I am just blown away and astounded by how beautiful this issue is . Each time we come up with a new theme I wonder , “ Will this resonate ? Will people want to submit to this theme ?” and every time we get countless amazing submissions .
For this issue I really wanted to focus on the energy of a maiden . I wanted readers to think of spring time , of new hope blossoming and the excitement that is held in all of us at the beginning of our lives . What I didn ’ t want was an archaic focus on virginity , or pureness . Hence the inclusion of the Greek goddess Venus . What I wanted was a new take on these words . And I ’ m pleased to say I think we accomplished that in this issue , and I hope you all agree .
Maiden is a continuation of Cauldron Anthology ’ s dive into redefining terms and retelling mythology . I hope we are always pushing the boundaries and creating something new . And I hope that you the readers continue this mission by reading our issues , sharing our work and of course by contributing .
