Nacido en Shanghai, pronto emigró a Toronto. Se graduó
en el Programa de Cine de la Universidad de Columbia
y fue miembro del Sundance Institute Screenwriting
and Directing Lab. Su debut, Old Stone, se estrenó en la

Johnny graduated from the Film Program at Columbia
University and was a fellow at the Sundance Institute
Screenwriting and Directing Lab. His debut, Old Stone,
premiered at the Berlinale. It was awarded the Best
Canadian First Feature Award at Toronto IFF and Best
First Feature at the Canadian Screen Awards.
