Automotive Technology
Curriculum Description
The Automotive Technology program offers training in all aspects of automotive repair , based on ASE ( Automotive Service Excellence ) standards . Through our courses , students are introduced to the skills necessary to become automotive technicians . The program is certified by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation ( NATEF ) and the Automotive Youth Educational System ( AYES ).
Students hone their skills in a state-of-the-art 50,000 + square foot facility centered around a 24 bay main shop where students can train in a real-world environment . The shop is also equipped with 12 computer terminals to provide the student with service information . The facility has an in-house parts store where students can learn parts and service sales skills .
The proper use of safety equipment , troubleshooting , producing estimates and customer service are important elements of the program . Upperclassmen are encouraged to bolster their skills and experience by securing internships and co-op positions with local repair shops and auto dealerships .

• English - 4 credits

• Social Studies - 4 credits
• Health & Physical Education - 1 credit
• World Languages - 2 credits ( required if NC college bound )
• Electives - 4 credits in any other subject area
