Animation
Curriculum Description
The Animation curriculum provides students with an introduction to basic animation . The course focuses on the methods and techniques for drawing , stop motion , and 2D animation . This class will prepare students for higher education in animation and / or game design . Course will include instruction in the history of animation , principles of animation , computer animation and professional standards and ethics .
Students will work through various hands-on tutorials and projects under the guidance of a teacher / mentor . Emphasis is placed on students building a portfolio of work using Adobe Animate and Blender .
Course Requirements
General Education Required Courses
• English - 4 credits
• Math - 4 credits
• Science - 3 credits
• Social Studies - 4 credits
• Health & Physical Education - 1 credit
• World Languages - 2 credits ( required if NC college bound )
• Electives - 4 credits in any other subject area ( Film Production would pair well )
Certificate Required Courses
• Adobe Visual Design ( graphic design )
• Adobe Video Design
• Honors Photography and Digital Film or Television production
