Radio / Audio Production
Curriculum Description
** New for 2024-2025
The Radio Production curriculum focuses on the methods and techniques for creating programming for radio . Studies include producing and delivering podcasts , producing and presenting live talk shows , and editing radio commercials . A collaboration with WAME , projects created by students will air on 92.9FM and 550AM . This class will prepare students for higher education in radio / audio production . Course will include instruction in the principles of broadcast technology , audio editing , radio production and professional standards and ethics .
Students will work together under the guidance of a teacher / mentor as they produce podcasts relevent to Iredell County . Emphasis is placed on students demonstrating their abilities to use content and apply knowledge to real-world situations , enhancing their skills in leadership , communication , writing , speaking , problem solving , and conflict resolution .
Course Requirements
General Education Required Courses
• English - 4 credits
• Math - 4 credits
• Science - 3 credits , must include Basic Anatomy
• Social Studies - 4 credits
• Health & Physical Education - 1 credit
• World Languages - 2 credits ( required if NC college bound )
• Electives - 4 credits in any other subject area ( TV Studio Production would pair well )
