Manicuring
Curriculum Description
The Career Academy has partnered with Mitchell Community College to offer courses in Cosmetic Arts on our campus . Students have both a practical classroom and salon complete with twelve manicure stations and ten pedicure stations . The salon is open to the public , allowing students live interaction with actual clients .
Outside of class , students compete on the regional , state and national level and have already won several national recognitions .
Upon successful completion of the courses , students may receive a temporary employment permit allowing them to gain employment at a salon or spa . Students are also prepared to take the North Carolina State Exam for permanent licensure in their chosen area of cosmetic arts .
This series of Manicuring coursework is offered at CATS through Mitchell Community College . Therefore , students must submit a CCP application for the course .

General Education Required Courses
• English - 4 credits
• Math - 4 credits
• Science - 3 credits
• Social Studies - 4 credits
• Health & Physical Education - 1 credit
• World Languages - 2 credits ( required if NC college bound )
• Electives - 4 credits in any other subject area
