Our annual Rally for the Cure was held on May 21.
The Rally for the Cure works to spread awareness
about breast health and breast cancer in support
of Susan B. Komen. We had beautiful weather and
a great day for golf while supporting a great cause.
Twenty-three women and men joined in play as well
as others contributing to the cause.
The winning men’s team was Rob Rosenbloom,
Hutch Hutchinson, Bob Athens and Jeff Meitz.
The winning women’s team was Annette Holland,
Ruth Roosenberg, Chris Rosenbloom, and Marti
Reckdenwald. Closest to the hole winners were
Sarah Hutton and Steve Schyck. Thanks to all of
the participants and our sponsors as we raised over
$1,800. $1,000 of that amount will remain here in
Hart County to assist our residents in their battles.

Red, White & Blue
By the time you read this, we will have hosted our
ninth annual Red, White & Blue Tournament on
Thursday, June 12. This has been our most popular
event and, in past years, the field has been comprised
of teams representing over a dozen clubs in north
Georgia and South Carolina. We will have the
results and pictures in the next issue.

Match Play Tournament
We have reached the semi-final rounds of our new
match play tournament. These matches will be
played by June 23. The match in the upper bracket
will be between Jeanine Douglas and Candy Taylor.
The match in the lower bracket will be between
Kathy Heriford and Annette Holland. The winners
of each of these matches will meet and play prior to
the July 14 deadline.
Punkin’ Open | October 22
This is a two-person member team event in which
teams are paired by handicaps. This event gives all
of our CLGA members, both 18 and 9-hole players,
a chance to play together. We will have a day of fun,
crazy golf and celebrate heartily.
CHICKS & CROWS
Our May 2 event was hosted by Ruth Roosenberg
and Chris Rosenbloom. Sixteen players in teams of
four vied for first place. It was captured by the team
of Rick Heithaus, Jack Maciag, Ruth Roosenberg
and Pat Schyck. The second place team was Chris
Rosenboom, Annette Holland, Woody Hutton and
Ruth Ann Maciag. The third place team was Rob
Rosenbloom, Jackie Kuppersmith, Jan Heithaus and
Paul Roosenberg.
On June 1, all the two person teams played from
the forward tees and the longest club that men were
able to use was a 9 iron, except that they could use a
driver on #3. The format was alternate shot with the
women teeing off on the even numbered holes and
the men on the odd numbered holes. The winning
team, with a score of 44, was Rich Reckdenwald and
Jan Heithaus. Second place was Steve Schyck and
Ruth Roosenberg. Third place was Paul Roosenberg
and Candy Taylor. The average score for all teams
was 49. Upcoming C& C dates: Friday, June 27,
Friday, September 19, Sunday, October 26 Season
Finale. If you are interested in joining in on our
entertaining and crazy afternoons of golf, please

on behalf of the CLGA to Rachael Hulme on
May 8 at Elberton County Comprehensive
High School Senior Awards night. On May 16,
Tammy Hutchinson, presented the award to
Elizabeth Walker at Hart County High School.
Congratulations from all of us at the CLGA!
