An effective global strategy supports the acquisition of talented people,
explains Global Talent Acquisition Leader, Mike Clarke.

technology that enables electronic
payment transactions and value-
added services at the point of sale
(POS), head-quartered in California
in the US. Since 1981, we have designed and marketed
system solutions that facilitate the long-term shift
away from cash and cheques and towards electronic
payment transactions. We have one of the leading
electronic payment solutions brands and are
one of the largest providers of electronic payment
systems worldwide.
Our vision is to securely connect the devices
within our payment ecosystem to cloud-based
services whenever and wherever possible.
Verifone’s commerce platform enables two-way
connected communication between merchants
and consumers – POS systems can help grow sales
and customer loyalty through targeted media,
omni-channel experiences, and exciting new
commerce solutions.
People underpin our achievements: operating
in more than 150 countries and employing nearly
6,000 people globally, we therefore require an
efficient and effective global hiring strategy. The
acquisition of talented people will continue to be
a critical component of our success as we seek to
create the future of the payments experience.
I lead all of Verifone’s talent acquisition activities,
from full-time and contingent labour hiring to
policies to processes, systems and tools. Having had

In 2016, we selected Alexander Mann Solutions to
become our partner in a global recruitment process
outsourcing (RPO) solution. They support our hiring
needs with a team of skilled recruiters, sourcers and
administrators that manage the end-to-end process
for hiring full-time employees around the globe.
The remit is for all full-time hires up to, and
including, director level. Adoption of RPO has been
challenging as many of our managers have been
used to doing things themselves for a long time.
However, when the benefits are experienced, change
management becomes much easier.
The solutions have bought us material cost
savings, an uplift in process efficiency and
consistency and, importantly, scalability. Our
volumes ebb and flow and the flexibility in the
Alexander Mann Solutions model was an important
consideration in our decision to partner with them.
They have enhanced our capabilities in a number of
important ways, for example:
