If you are using Altrex access equipment you know that you are using equipment of a superior quality , which meets the safety standards and is easy and comfortable in use . With the changes to the EN 1004 , the standard which specifies the requirements for mobile access towers , safety has reached a new level . The upgraded standard now also has an effect for mobile access towers below 2,50 m platform height , where the old standard is only applicable for mobile access towers greater than 2,50 m platform height . But there are more changes , so it ’ s time for an update .

For the new version of the EN 1004 standard , Altrex has developed smart upgrades to the existing components as well as additional components to meet the newest standard . The additional components are mainly applicable for the folding towers ( small mobile access & working towers ), as these are now included in the scope of the EN 1004 .
Changes to the EN 1004 standard The new version of the EN 1004 standard has consequences for the manufacturer , but it also affects the user of these products . The most important change concerns the distances between platform levels . The distance from the ground to the first platform used to be 4,60 m but has been changed to 3,40 m maximum . The maximum distance between the platform levels is now 2,25 m , instead of 4,20 m .
