Eyes and face protection devices
Eyes and face protection devices
PPE category 2 and 3 must be certified by a notified body recognised at European level. Product certification that demonstrates compliance with the requirements outlined in Directive 89 / 686 / EEC can be based on an assessment of the PPE ' s performance pursuant to the standards listed below:
EN 166:2001- The standard specifies the functional requirements that various personal eye protection devices must have and recalls some other standards detailing the requirements that the PPE must meet on its type, field of use and identified performance.
EN 169:2002- Personal eye protection- Filters for welding and related techniques EN 1731:2006- Personal eye protection- Mesh eye and face protectors EN 170:2002- Personal eye protection- Ultraviolet filters EN 379- Specifications for automatic welding filters EN 175:1997- Eye and face protection equipment during welding and related processes
