your Manolos or Berlutis in a hidden
puddle when getting out. Oh yes, and
the beam casts its light in a silhouette of
the Evoque Convertible. Neat.
If this all sounds rather too urban for
the dedicated Land Rover customer,
Alan Volkaerts, Land Rover’s Vehicle
Line Director, is quick to point out that
“the Evoque Convertible is not only the
world’s fi rst convertible for all seasons,
it’s also every inch a Land Rover.”
This means it comes with all the
legendary off -road capability that
comes from 68 years of development.
The Evoque Convertible packs the
82
sophisticated systems for off -road
driving that are available across the
entire Land Rover range. Wade sensing
tells you how deep the water is you are
driving through; Hill Descent Control
lets you put your faith in the car to get
you off a steep, muddy slope safely and
a 35-degree safe tilt angle allows you to
cross hillsides confi dently.
So with its canvas tilt and purposeful
design, one is tempted to ask whether
the Evoque Convertible is really all that
far removed from the original Land
Rover of 1948? Believe me, the answer is
most defi nitely yes; in spades.
