ROYAL
SPARKLE
artier is synonymous with
royalty since it was first
founded in 1847. Ruling
families from around the
world, including Indian maharajas and
eastern princes, have beat a path to Cartier’s
door in Paris and London. When King
Edward VII (pictured left on his wedding
day) was crowned in 1902 he ordered
27 tiaras. So it was probably no surprise
when two years later he awarded Cartier
a Royal Warrant. Other Royal Families
followed suit and soon Cartier could claim
Royal Warrants from the ruling houses
of Spain, Portugal, Siam (now Thailand)
Egypt, Monaco, Greece, Serbia and Russia.
HM Queen Elizabeth II has continued
this tradition, regularly wearing key
pieces from her private collection and
from The Royal Collection throughout
her 60 year reign. So we take a peak
through the Cartier archive to create our
own collection of favourite pieces.
