e spoke with Kerry Hodges, retail manager at Ahern Rentals & Hardware in Gardnerville, about the essential tools a Northern Nevadan needs to take care of their yard. The tools themselves aren't completely surprising, but we found Kerry's tips quite helpful.

Your garden shed staples are an obvious must, but Hodges recommends all-metal construction. "Wood handles are less expensive," he said. "But, all it takes is a few too many afternoons left out
