A wrong way out is, basically, an addiction that we have added to our daily life and that is difficult to ignore. The most common examples are: smoking, alcohol, drugs, eating disorders, and some special kinds of addictions.
Smoking
Tobacco is burned and the smoke is tasted or inhaled. This is primarily practiced as a route of administration for recreational drug use, as nicotine is absorbed through the lungs.
Smoking is commonly seen as a trend in our society, a popular symbol between people. It is a hard habit to break because it contains nicotine, which is highly addictive. People begin to smoke for many reasons, like family habits or “to be cool”.
Smoking is bad for your health. Smoking harms nearly every organ of the body. It is also responsible for many other cancers and health problems.
Quitting smoking can reduce your risk of these problems. The earlier you quit, the greater the health benefit.
Statistics
About 9 out of 10 tobacco users start before they're 18 years old.
There are between 350 and 500 billion cigarettes produced each year. It is believed that over one billion are sold daily. A 2007 report states that, each year, about 4.9 million people worldwide die as a result of smoking.
