Finding the right photographer is an important part of the wedding planning process. With over 100,000 wedding photographers in the North America it can be pretty overwhelming trying to find the right photographer for you. We have gathered 7 important questions to ask when selecting a photographer, and we have answered them here.
What type of photographer are you? Odd question to ask? Well would you get your nails done at a dentist? Probably not, so why pay someone to capture your wedding that does not have experience in wedding photography. At Carpe Diem Studios we have specialized in wedding photography for many years. We LOVE capturing weddings – its what we do, and we do it well! Portrait photography is another area of focus for us – you can find out more about our portrait work on page 13.
When will I get my photos? This is an important one! We hear time and time again of couples still waiting for their photos over a year after their wedding day. At Carpe Diem Studios we want to get those photos to you as soon as they are completed. Our aim is to deliver your photos anywhere from 4 – 6 weeks after your event. Some exceptions may apply but don’ t worry – you won’ t wait a year!
Why are wedding photographers so expensive? The reality is – the age old saying still applies –“ You get what you pay for”. We see and hear many stories of brides in tears because the priceless memories of their wedding day have been poorly captured- low quality photos, poor editing, missed shots, and even“ no show” photographers. Trust me when I say this – Do not cheap out on capturing your wedding day – the photographer is the only vendor that is part of your day from start to finish. You will look back on these photos years from now to reminisce of your special day, Carpe Diem Studios strives to produce high quality images from start to finish. Our goal is that these photos stay with you for a lifetime, for you to happily relive all the precious moments of your wedding day.
Do we need a second shooter? That is entirely up to you! We recognize that not all weddings require the whole 9 yards, which is why we have basic packages available that can be covered by a single photographer. Keep in mind, a single photographer cannot be two places at once, so for those that do not want to compromise on some important angles and shots it may be wise to consider our packages that include 2 photographers. Headcount, venue( s) and duration should also be considered when deciding on the number of photographers needed.
How far in advance should I book the photographer?
Your photographer plays a very important role in your wedding day – so it is important you book them as soon as possible. At Carpe Diem Studios we prefer to book weddings well in advance to not only ensure availability, but also so we have an opportunity to get to know our clients, and have ample time to work through the wedding day itinerary and any special requirements. Can we trust you? Love this question! Simply put the answer is“ yes” however we understand this is a big decision and you may need more than one word to believe us. We take pride in what we do and we believe our reviews speak for themselves. We love getting feedback from our past clients and hearing how excited and satisfied they are with their photos! Can I give you a list of specific shots we would like?
Please do! The more you can share with us, the easier it is for us to understand what you envision for your day. We will always do our best to capture all your requests. Please keep in mind, there may be instances where specific shots may not be possible, however in those instances we will typically discuss prior to the event and provide alternate options.
