CAM has come a long long way since it came to be with many bumps and bruises along the way. It started out as 3 guys fishing tournaments together. Then in 2012 we decided to branch out into this new kind of carp fishing called wild water carping. Next we started hearing about tournaments in NY, Connecticut and now one was coming to South Carolina called the Carolina cup. We were in! We got registered and plans were forming about strategy, baiting and some sort of team shirt. So T-shirts were made with Carpoholic on them our team name. Turns out when I posted a picture of the t-shirts on facebook for the others to have a look. The name was used by several different groups so Carpoholics was born. The group was formed that almost immediately shot up to over 2000 members worldwide on social media. After a few more bumps in the road the name progressed to Carpoholics Anonymous and in 2014 the decision was made to start a magazine. Adam Wilson took on the job and the first magazine was published. There were some design problems with the first publishing company so the switch was made to Joomag to publish our magazine and the second issue was published 2 May 2014. Then came a bump in the road once again and this one shook the very core of the group. Some left, some stayed and the group pretty much fell apart. So there I was with a magazine to fund and publish pretty much all on my own.
