GLOBAL NEWS

Porsche is known for meticulous focus on design and artistry, and the upcoming Porsche Mission E Cross Turismo will not stray from the company’s path. Michael Mauer, Chief Designer of Porsche, recently commented about the Mission E and hinted that the upcoming crossover may also come with autonomous driving technology.

When commenting about the two light recesses at the Mission E Cross Turismo’s hood, Mauer said electric Porsches, such as the crossover’s smaller brother Taycan has different light designs than the rest of the marque’s line-up, yet retaining the identity as a Porsche.

The four point light design of the vehicle and the headlamps around the air intakes were identified as key takeaways. Similar to how Toyota and Lexus do it with their hybrid and electric models, the logo at the tailgate was also illuminated for distinction. Though the Mission E Cross Turismo is similar to other Porsches especially in form and silhouette of the Panamera Sport Turismo and Taycan, with a dash of Macan, a clear difference can be seen in the higher roofline as a result of the battery placed under the passengers.

Mauer also discussed about the two light recesses at the Mission E Cross Turismo’s hood catering to the additional headlights that are similar to Porsche rally vehicles. In summery it is safe to say that driverless technology could be part of the Mission E Cross Turismo soon.
