Developed in Sri Lanka with the aid of Azaam Fashir (Director of Operations Sita Travels, Saudi Arabia), ODIO is a carpooling app that allows more than one person to use the same vehicle. This as a result reduces each person’s travel costs, fuel costs, tolls, and the stress of driving.

The vehicle can be registered by providing basic information.

ODIO provides the ease of entering information such as extra luggage,

detour, drop/pickup locations, and comes with a “Ladies Only” option for ride-sharing only among female passengers. Passengers will only need to include the starting point and payment details to confirm the trip. They can review information about the driver such as driver, passenger and co passenger details. Udio also provides verification information such as NIC/Passport, driving license, Facebook profile, profile picture, ratings and reviews by past passengers/drivers.

To ensure safety of passengers, the UDIO system completely relies on peer reviews and ratings and seeks to collect identity information, driving license, vehicle information, etc.

Udio is considered to be an ideal solution to the growing traffic conditions in the country. It is also a great way to utilize unused space, while providing drivers an extra income. With the growth of the sharing economy, UDIO expects to facilitate other sectors including corporate transport companies, school transport as well as tours, in the future.
