While most of us were planning our new year, the Japanese automotive giant Nissan was planning something else, as it was having a rough start to 2018. When the fireworks swept the world announcing the beginning of the new year, the Japanese vehicle manufacturing corporation Nissan Motor Company Ltd was busy drafting excuses, for why it has to recall more than 100,000 cars in Russia.

As announced by the Russian technical safety agency Rosstandart, Nissan is expected to recall roughly 106,340 cars in the Russian Federation due to issues related to airbags in some of its vehicle models.

Officials at Rosstandart stated that this new recall will affect seven Nissan vehicle models, which were manufactured for 11 years during the time period starting from 19 February 2001 to 28 November 2012.

The agency released a list of the affected vehicle models, which includes all major categories, from compact cars to sedans and even some of Nissan’s popular SUV’s. The list mentions these vehicles as the Nissan X- Trail, the Nissan Pickup, Nissan Almera, Nissan Terrano II, Nissan Tino, Nissan Teana and the popular Nissan Patrol SUV.

While it was not specifically mentioned, the defect is said to be linked to the Takata airbag issue that gripped the vehicle industry for the past few years.

Suzuki Launches a Surprising New Compact Crossover Wagon in Japan

While the world was busy celebrating the New Year, Suzuki was busy organising its latest launch event for a surprising new crossover wagon. Dubbed the new Suzuki Xbee, which actually stands as a shortened word for the phrase cross-bee, is said to be a whole new genre of vehicles that fuses the fun riding experience of an SUV with the spacious interior cabin of a wagon, giving its passengers the best of two worlds.

However, while the Xbee is built to offer a solid driving experience in a wide range of locations, from city driving to leisure activities such as driving in the great outdoors, the wagon’s strongest point is its comprehensive array of new safety features.

The brand-new Suzuki Xbee comes with Suzuki’s in-house Safety Support System, which includes the company’s preventive safety technology that allows driving safely and confidently. For the first time on a Suzuki compact car, the Xbee has a Backup Brake Support collision-mitigation system and a Dual Sensor Brake Support (DSBS) collision-mitigation system, for an enhanced level of safety on the road.

Apart from that, the Suzuki Xbee also includes a revolutionary new 3D View future, which allows the driver to have a 360-degree view of the vehicles immediate surrounding for a better driving visibility.
