Get Your Wallets Ready; the 2018 Audi A7 Sportback Is On Its Way
The highly anticipated second-generation 2018 Audi A7 was revealed at an event held in the company’s new design studio, in Ingolstadt, Germany.
"The new A7 will come with two variants, a 3.0-litre V6 turbo-diesel (50 TDI) option and a 3.0-litre turbo V6 petrol (55 TFSI) option."
However, additional details were only published for the petrol V6 variant, which is said to be capable of generating 250kW of power and 500Nm of torque. The car will also come with a seven-speed dual-clutch S-tronic transmission system and an advanced all-wheel-drive arrangement, which is purportedly capable of accelerating the A7 from zero to 100km/h in just 5.3 seconds while also giving it a top speed of roughly 250km/h on the highway.
After the initial variants go into production, a four-cylinder variant of both the petrol and diesel models will also be on offer.
All variations of the car will also come fitted with a mild-hybrid system. This would include a 48V electrical system, a lithium-ion battery and a belt alternator starter. This light hybrid system is capable of putting the car on Audi’s coasting mode, for speeds between 55km/h to 160km/h, and it can also activate the automatic engine start/stop system for speeds up to 22km/h.
The latest Audi A7 is expected to come with either four or five-seat configurations.
