KENNEDY GARDEN CLUB SPRING FESTIVAL
The Garden Club has two great events for families coming up !
Earth Day Park Cleanup will take place Sunday , April 21 , from 11 a . m . to 1 p . m . at Fairhaven Park , located at 39 Fairhaven Road in McKees Rocks . Volunteers are needed to help make this local park look its best . This is presented by the garden club and the Kennedy Township Parks & Recreation Committee .
In May , the Spring Festival will be held on Saturday , May 11 , at Fairhaven Park , located at 39 Fairhaven Road in McKees Rocks . The festival begins at noon and lasts until 4 p . m .
There will be a plethora of great plants for sale of course , but there ’ s also a bake sale with delicious items , food trucks and more than 50 vendors for you to shop ! Admission is free .

Here are some interesting and worthwhile events coming up this spring in Carnegie .
INTERNATIONAL POETRY DAY FESTIVAL
If you love a good turn of phrase , mark your calendar for March 23 , 11 a . m . to 1 p . m ., when this festival takes place at the Andrew Carnegie Free Library .
Each reading will be accompanied by interpretive dance from the Sanskruti School of Indian Dance and Music .
Artwork and original poetry by Carlynton students will be on display , and native-born Carnegie poet , and University of Pittsburgh professor , Fred Shaw will share his own work . For more , visit carnegiecarnegie . org .
CLEAN-UP DAY & GLASS RECYCLING
Glass recycling is scheduled for April 6 at the Carnegie Borough Building , and a Clean-Up Day location will be announced at a later date . Check the borough website as more details emerge , carnegieborough . com .
ANNUAL EARTH DAY CELEBRATION
Celebrate Earth on Saturday , April 20 , at the Carnegie Free Library from 11 a . m . to 3 p . m . This is event is for all ages to learn about container gardening , seeds , and other Earth-centered subjects . There will be crafts and games for children , and a special presentation at 1 p . m . by Brian Charlton of the Donora Smog Museum .

INGRUN 5K

17TH ANNUAL CARNEGIE VOLUNTEER FIRE & RESCUE 5K RUN / WALK

ST . VINCENT DE PAUL FOOD BANK IN CARNEGIE
There is a food bank located within the St . Elizabeth Ann Seton Church of St . Raphael the Archangel Parish . It is operated by the St . Vincent de Paul Society . Although many people think of giving to food pantries during holiday times , people need assistance year-round . If you can help by donating items to the food bank , your generosity will benefit those in need . The church , located at 330 3rd Avenue , is open Monday through Friday from 9 a . m . to 3:30 p . m ., with a place to leave donations in the narthex ( entrance hall ) of the church . You may also mail a check for a monetary donation to the church address , payable to St . Vincent de Paul Society . n
