Kindergarten -Year 6
Students in Kindergarten - Year 6 follow a curriculum
based upon NSW Board of Studies requirements,
building on the foundations provided in the
Kindergarten Preparatory Class.
Children joining the school in Kindergarten, or in
later year levels, are warmly accepted into their
peer group by students already familiar with the
expectations of the school. They quickly adapt to
their new environment and benefit from the peer-to-
peer induction process which takes place so naturally
between children. Teachers too, are especially aware
of any new children in the school and make sure
they have “buddies” to help them become happy and
confident members of the school community.
The school has outstanding classroom facilities, with
electronic smart boards, easy access to computers
and a modern, well equipped Library and
Resource Centre.

Extra-Curricular Activities
PRIVATE MUSIC TUITION
Private music tutors provide specialist music tuition in a
variety of instruments, for students from Year 2 to Year 6 in
a convenient and secure environment.
SCHOOL BAND AND CHOIR
Carinya students are able to join a school band and choir
and perform as opportunities present themselves.
SPORT
Carinya is affiliated with the Christian Schools Sports
Association (CSSA) as well as with the Combined
Independent Schools Sports Association (CIS). These
affiliations allow students to compete at Zone, State and
National levels in a wide range of individual and team
sports, including swimming and athletics.
