Global Support ? Joan Vogelsang Joan Vogelsang is CEO and President of Toon Boom Animation Canada. Joan, and Toon Boom are a great supporter and stakeholder in the development of the Caribbean Industry. She recently invested time and e?ort in promoting regional animation intervention in Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, and Guyana. Joan is also an ardent supporter of the Annual Animae Caribe Animation Festival. Joan, who lived in Trinidad for a number of years as a child, assisted the development of the Diploma in Animation at University of Trinidad and Tobago. Toon Boom is the worldwide leader in animation software solutions creating such products as The Rugrats, SpongeBob the Movie, Simpsons the Movie and The Princess and the Frog
These relationships ensure that FCA is able to expand its capacity and diversify its resource pool to meet the demands of the evolving animation industry. In 2009 Camille was honored with the Toronto based Caribbean Tales Innovation Award for the work that she has achieved in the Caribbean in the ?eld of Animation. In 2010 she was also selected by the global animation association ASIFA, to be the president of the ?rst ever ASIFA Caribbean Chapter . In 2010 she worked within the prison system to conduct workshops with 16 young prisoners and due to its success was able to negotiate with animation giants Toon Boom Animation Inc of Toronto Canada to out?t the Prisons computer lab with Animation software. Strategic Partners The Government of Trinidad and Tobago supports animation. GOTT through the Trinidad and Tobago Film Company has supported the festival; and, the Ministry of Science Technology and Tertiary Education has supported training in animation through its annual Programme . Tertiary level education in animation is o?ered. The University of Trinidad and Tobago has a diploma programme in animation. The programme started in 2008 and is in its third year. Through the TTFC, the State has instituted a 35% rebate incentive for locally produced

Camille Selvon Abrahams is the founder of Full Circle Animation Studio. She is an award winning multi-??media producer & animator who returned to Trinidad & Tobago after spending ?ve years honing her animation and multi-?? media production skills in the United Kingdom. She graduated from Goldsmiths University of London with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Media and Communications, specialising in animation. She currently is a lecturer and program coordinator for animation at The University of Trinidad and Tobago. She is also the Founder and Creative Director of Animae Caribe Animation and New Media Festival, the Caribbean'?s ?rst animation and new media festival. In 2007, Camille launched Full Circle Animation Studio, where she currently employs over 20 young people she trained in the art of animation. It is one of the Caribbean’s ?rst fully functioning Animation studios.
