Essentials of Healthcare Science
The Essentials of Healthcare is a medical-focused anatomy course addressing the physiology of each body system, along with the investigation of common diseases and disorders. This course is ideal for students who are interested in a career in medicine and have a strong background in science. Students will practice such skills as vital sign assessment, crutch fitting, and wound care.
This is the second course within the Sports Medicine Pathway.
Prerequisites: Introduction to Healthcare Science and Biology credit earned
Students may opt-in to earn an Anatomy/Physiology science credit.

Sports Medicine
The Sports Medicine course is for students who want to pursue a career in healthcare with a focus on the physically active population. Such careers include Physical Therapy, Athletic Training, and Strength and Conditioning Specialists. Students will learn the fundamentals of injury evaluation and rehabilitation. This is a hands-on course and students will practice skills such as injury evaluations, taping techniques, rehabilitative exercise, and advanced first aid skills.
This is the third course within the Physical Medicine Pathway.
