Cadet Field Manual includes the study of naval heritage, organization, sea power and naval history from colonial times to the 1850s, the study of naval ship missions and organization, an introduction to navigation and maritime geography, basic seamanship including rig and shipboard watch procedures, military drill with rifles, and physical development. Navy leadership principles will be applied to drills and unit organizational duties. An introduction to naval physical fitness and related health topics are covered. Other unit topics include a study of officer and enlisted programs, military drill, commands, and ceremonies.
