SPECIALIZATION : PRACTICAL NURSING ( LPN )
WHAT IS IT ?
EFSC ’ s Practical Nursing program is a one-year certificate program .
Under the direction of a qualified health professional , the practical nurse performs nursing functions commensurate with his or her education and demonstrated competencies . On a selective basis , this includes the performance of a wide range of nursing activities in semi-complex and complex situations .
Upon successful completion of the program , students may make application to and take the Florida State Board of Nursing examination ( NCLEXPN ) for practical nurses . With successful completion of the program and LPN licensure or a NCLEX test date , graduates will be eligible to apply to the Associate Degree Nursing transition to R . N . program . Upon successful completion of the Basic Healthcare Worker and Basic Nursing Skills courses , the student is eligible to apply for the State of Florida CNA exam for certification as a nursing assistant .
Students are admitted to the Practical Nursing Program in the January term only .
Note : This is a limited access program with a special application process .
