WHAT IS IT?
The Medical Laboratory Technology Associate in Science degree is a two-year program that incorporates general education and specific medical laboratory technique. This program appeals to students who are interested in biology and chemistry and who wish to work in a medical laboratory.
The program will prepare students to work in certain areas of a clinical lab, which include hematology, mycology, urinalysis, immunohematology( blood bank), chemistry, microbiology, and serology.
The college has an equipped medical laboratory to introduce basic testing concepts for laboratory testing found in the typical hospital. The student will learn to perform actual diagnostic procedures at the college and then will do three clinical rotations at area hospitals.
Note: The Medical Laboratory Technology program is a limited access program. A specialized application process is required
